Important Airbag Compatibility Note!
These pillar pods are NOT compatible with vehicles fitted with pillar-mounted side airbags.
Toyota Landcruiser 70 Series single cab variants from approximately 2016 onwards received an ANCAP safety upgrade that includes pillar-mounted airbags. If your vehicle has this airbag system, fitting aftermarket pillar pods will obstruct airbag deployment and create a serious safety risk. Do not fit these pods to any vehicle with pillar airbags under any circumstances.
If you are unsure whether your vehicle has pillar airbags, check your owner's manual, look for airbag warning labels on the pillar trim, or contact your Toyota dealer with your VIN before ordering.
Vehicle Compatibility
Suitable for:
- Toyota Landcruiser 79 Series — Single Cab Ute and Double Cab Ute (pre-airbag upgrade variants)
- Toyota Landcruiser 78 Series — Troop Carrier
Not suitable for: 70 Series single cab variants from approximately 2016 onwards fitted with pillar airbags as part of the ANCAP safety upgrade. Confirm your vehicle's airbag configuration before ordering.
Installation Notes
Installation is straightforward and reversible. Remove your existing A-pillar cover, route any wiring behind the pillar before fitting, then clip or fasten the pod in place using the existing mounting points. No permanent modification to the vehicle is required. Keep your original pillar covers — they can be refitted if needed.
Again: confirm your vehicle does not have pillar airbags before fitting. This is a safety-critical check, not optional.
