What to Expect — Fitment Notes
Aftermarket panels are NOT Toyota OEM parts and are priced accordingly. Like all imported aftermarket body panels, these doors will require minor adjustment on installation — gap alignment, hinge shimming and surface prep are standard steps for any panel fitment job. The steel is OEM-grade and the primer-dip finish is solid, but you should expect to do light surface preparation before your final top coat. This is normal practice for aftermarket panel replacement and is well within the scope of a panel shop or a competent DIY restoration.
What you won't find on these doors: rust, bog, or wrecking yard mystery damage. That's the point.
Recommended Installation Process
- Dry-fit the door and check gap alignment before any paint work. (No returns if painted)
- Adjust hinges and striker as needed — minor fitting is standard
- Sand and prep the primed surface as needed
- Apply a quality primer coat if desired, then top coat to match
- Transfer seals, handles, glass and hardware from your existing door
